Why Choose Saint Aloysius School?

Rooted In Faith

We are a community rooted in faith, love, and values.

  • We strive to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ every day, and encourage our students to do the same.
  • We pray daily, both as a whole school and in our classrooms, and we celebrate liturgies and prayer services together as a school community.
  • We instill in our students the values of compassion, kindness, and service to others through projects such as collecting food for local food pantries, clothing drives, collecting for the missions.
  • We prepare our students to choose nonviolence and to see others as reflections of Christ.
  • We are rooted in a common Christian faith that encourages the respect and support of each child’s culture and creed.

Safe Environment

We offer students a safe, nurturing environment.

  • Our faculty & staff offer a sense of security and stability to the school and the community.
  • Our students come to school knowing that they are in a safe environment, where they are cared for and loved, and where they are safe to learn and grow.
  • Teachers know the students and their parents by name, and collaborate to best serve the students’ academic, emotional and spiritual needs.
  • We restrict building admittance to only authorized staff, students and their families, and approved visitors.
  • The entire staff works to keep our students safe, and is certified by the Diocese of Trenton in protecting all of God’s children.
  • We encourage the healthy intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth of each child.

Academics

We ensure that students succeed in a strong, standards-based educational experience.

  • Our teaching staff sets high expectations for learning and growth, and actively works with students to help them succeed and to be prepared for high school and life.
  • Our curriculum helps students to achieve their fullest potential through effective, research-based teaching practices. We are accredited by AdvancED and the Diocese of Trenton.
  • Our students consistently outperform their expected levels of achievement on standardized tests.
  • Our teachers participate in on-going professional development.

Before / After Care

We serve busy working families by providing before and after-school care.

  • We provide before-school care beginning at 7:00 AM, and after-school care until 6:00 PM. Students are not only cared for in a safe environment, they are also able to do their homework, obtain tutoring, participate in extracurricular activities, etc.
  • We provide a free H.U.G.S. (Homework Under the Guidance of Staff) Program from 3:30 - 4:15 most Mondays through Thursdays.
  • Please contact the Office for pricing information for our Extended Day Programs.

Tuition Assistance

We work hard to make this investment financially possible.

  • We work diligently to help families be able to afford a better education for their children.
  • Through the generosity of the parishioners of the Church of Saint Aloysius we make an education valued at $5,000 per year available to families for approximately 2/3 of the cost.
  • Financial Assistance is available. Please contact the Office for a Financial Aid application.
  • We strive to find high school scholarships and grants for our graduates.

Future Leaders

We prepare our students to be future leaders.

  • Our teaching staff sets high expectations for learning and growth, and actively works with students to help them succeed and be prepared for high school and life.
  • Our curriculum helps students achieve their fullest potential through effective, research-based teaching practices. We are accredited by the AdvancED  and the Diocese of Trenton.
  • Our graduates go on to selective specialized and private Catholic high schools including Christian Brothers Academy, Donovan Catholic, Notre Dame, Red Bank Catholic, St. John Vianney, St. Rose, Marine Academy of Technology & Environmental Science, Performing Arts Academy & Trinity Hall.
  • Attending a Catholic high school is important to us – 65% of our graduates attend Catholic high schools.  98% of students graduating from Catholic high schools attend college or university.
  • We enable our graduates to obtain scholarships for high school. Recent graduates have received academic scholarships from various parish organizations such as the Altar Rosary Society and the Knights of Columbus.
  • Our graduates succeed at the high school level, as evidenced by the many academic commendations we receive quarterly (report cards, honor roll lists, etc.) from alumni and high schools attesting to our alumni’s academic success beyond graduation.

Technology

We utilize technology to enhance our students’ learning and growth.

  • Students enjoy high-speed Internet access, filtered for safe content in all classrooms.
  • Students use state-of-the-art Mac computers/iPads.
  • Students utilize laptops/iPads to enhance learning both in the classrooms via two mobile wireless labs, and in the separate computer lab, complete with an LCD projector that enables students to see projections of teacher demonstrations.
  • Our teachers and staff utilize technology across the curriculum to help our students better learn academic concepts, and to expose students to the technology that will be essential in the future.
  • Students use programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint), Keynote, Pages, Garage Band, iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto, Photoshop and Skype and learn to navigate the World Wide Web.
  • Teachers can communicate with parents through e-mail and individual class web pages.
  • Parents can check attendance and assignments through PowerSchool, our web-based student information system.
